Wasps and Yellow Jackets look very similar at first glance, but they are different in several ways. First of all they both will bite you if they feel threatened. Some of their differences are that wasps don’t have any noticeable hair as Yellow Jackets do. Wasps tend to have smaller colonies than Yellow Jackets and are not as aggressive as Yellow Jackets.
